This image was taken during walk in a local park earlier this spring.
This steelwork is a sign on a building in the park.
We've had a short and busy weekend due to work and guests. We had a great evening out at the 'K' on Saturday. The only new images were of some sunrise light in the backyard. But I did find two new locations nearby that may give some great images.

Photo of the Week - Sandy Creek Bridge
It was a rainy morning in eastern Missouri. We are down visiting Mom S. and I got up early to get some sunrise shots and explore. Well, the rain clouds took care of the sunrise. I had found information about Sandy Creek Covered Bridge historical park. It is part of the Missouri State Parks. It is a beautiful park tucked into a valley setting.
The day was cloudy, and eastern Missouri is emerald green this year from all the spring rain. Sandy Creek isn't showing much, but the Mississippi and the Merimack are both out of their banks.

A Memorial - To Angel
We lost a family member today. Angel came to our home at 8 weeks of age, and stayed with us for 16 years. She guarded us from cats, felt her Scottish heritage by herding kids, barked with the neighbor dogs, and was a boon companion for the entire time.
Over the past couple of years time caught up with her. Her eyesight and hearing got weak. She wasn't interested in tennis balls anymore. But she still loved snow falls, and sleeping in the shade in the back yard.
The last few weeks were tough. You knew that she wasn't her old self. She passed on May 19, 2009.
Angel, we will miss you. Find your spot next to Grandpa's chair. He will be glad to see you

The New K
We made our first trip to the New Kauffman stadium. For those of you aren't from KC the original stadium is about 40 years old. Rather than build new they kept the original bowl and rebuilt the concourses and the new outfield area. Everything is nice, and the new outfield area is great.

Photo of the Week - May 16, 2009
This week's photos are a couple of shots taken in the garden with the 35-70mm in macro mode:
This robin's egg was left on the beam when she cleared out the nest after her hatchlings arrived.
The strawberry patch is in good form, and was in full bloom when I was out there with the camera

Flash Flood !
Every spring we get one big rain that just wants to wash everything away. That happened last night. Here are a few highlights!
This is the greenway on Brooktree Lane. From this point the water came up another 12 inches or so to go over the roadway where I took this image.
This is this morning! The first photo was taken from the road looking up the creek. You can see a few more in my gallery.
